Jurrell's First Growing Post

Which is larger?
1/2 + 1/6 or 1/4 + 7/12

1 / 4 = 15 because 60 divided by 4 is 15
7 / 12 = 35, because 60/12 = 5, 5x7 = 35
15+35=50mins

1 / 2 = 30 because 60 divided by 2 is 30

1/6 = 10, because 60 divided by 6 is 10

30+10=40mins

1/4 + 7/12 is larger.

In my bikerace what we did was we divided the numbers by the denominators and since they were unit fractions you were able to do that.
Second thing we did is that since one of the numbers are a a decimal number we just took that number and divided into 60km.

What are 2 diffrent ways to find a quarter and 3/4 of a number. Use one of the following 16, 22, or 110?
one way to find 1/4 of 16 is you divide 16/4 = 4.
3/4 of 16 is you divide 16 by 4=4 then you multiply it by 3 because theres 3/4=12.
I picked this website of games because it gives you a lot of games to choose from. Whether you like " Tony's Fraction Pizza Shop " to "Fraction Rings".

Which one is larger?
1/3+1/2 or 2/6+1/12=

1/3=
60/3=20
1/2=60/2=30 so I add the minutes together, and it would be 50 minutes.
2/6=60/6=10 + 60/6= 20
1/12=60/12=5 then you add the minutes together, and it would equal 25
1/3+1/2 is larger
