Question 1:

Describe what a Pythagorean Triple is and use your perfect square chart from 1 squared to 10 squared to find another one other than 3,4,5.

A pythagorean triple is three numbers that are all perfect squares. Like 3 squared + 4 squared equals 5 squared. So, then it is 9 + 16 = 25. Another pythagorean triple from the perfect square chart is 6,8,10.

Question 2:

Using embeddable web 2.0, describe how to find the missing side of a Right Triangle using the Pythagorean Theorem, show how to solve both for a missing leg and the hypotenuse (note: you may use numerical examples ie. a=4 b=6 c=?)

Question 1)
A pythagorean triple us 3 numbers that follow the rule of A2+B2=C2

A very good example of a Pythagorean triple is to use "3,4,5" This picture shows you that
  • 32=9
  • 42=16
  • 52=25
Question 2)
When your going to Find a missing leg you must follow the Formula of C2-A2=B2 OR C2-B2=A2 Ex.
52-42=A2 25-16=9 9=A2
Square root of 9=3

HOW TO FIND THE MISSING HYPOTENUSE

32+42=C2 9+16=25 Square root of 25=5

Question 3)
Worksheet problem A.
First follow the pythagorean theorem.
A2 + B2 = C2 25,2 + 10,2 = C2 625 + 100 = 725 725/ = 26.925

(FOR PICTURE BELOW)
729 - 676 = 53
725 - 676 = 49

In class today we did some multiple
questions and we had to answer them.
I am going to do question "B".

The Question
A triangle has the side length 6 cm,
7 cm, and the square root is 13 cm.
Is this a right angle??

The Answer

a2=(squareroot13)2=13
b2=62=36
c2=72=49
a2+b2=c2

Part 1:
Whats a Pythagoras Theorum?

A pythagorean Triple is 3 perfect numbers used to satisfy
the problem, a2+b2=c2. Some others are 3, 4, 5 and 6, 8, 10.

a=6 - a2=36
b=8 - b2=64
c=10 - c2=100

a2 + b2 = c2 + 64 = 100

This is one of the examples:

Part1:
What's the Pythagorean triple?

For those of you who are familiar with the Pythagorean theorem, you might have came across this during your investigations.

But for those of you who aren't, a Pythagorean triple is a set of 3 numbers. In that set of numbers, when all of them are squared, adding the two lowest numbers will equal the remaining number.
*Note: after squaring, the resulting numbers must all be whole number.*

For Example, 3, 4, 5 is a Pythagorean triple.

To figure out if this set is one of the Pythagorean triple, we need to find out if the two lowest numbers squared will equal the highest number squared.

first, the formula, then we apply the measurements, then we squared the numbers that required squaring. then add a and b together.
a2 + b2 = c2
32 + 42 = 52
9 + 16 = 25
25 = 25

if the answers below equal each other, the set is one of the Pythagorean triple.

There are other sets of Pythagorean triple too.
Some of them are 6, 8, 10 and 12, 16, 20. Try them out!

Part2:
How to find the missing Hypotenuse
BubbleShare: Share photos - Powered by BubbleShare

Finding to missing leg:
*My Computer Won't upload the Pictures to bubbleshare, sorry.*

Its basically similar to how to find the missing hypotenuse, but instead of the formula: a2 + b2 = c2. The formula used is either c2 - a2 = b2 or c2 - b2 = a2.
pretend these are the givens:
c= 5
b= 4
a= ?

because were trying to find the missing leg a, we use the formula c2 - b2 = a2.

c2 - b2 = a2
52 - 42 = a2
25 - 16 = a2
9 = a2
3 = a

Part3:
You`re locked out of your house and the only open window is on the second floor, 25 feet above the ground. You need to borrow a ladder from one of your neighbors. There's a bush along the edge of you house, so you`ll have to place the ladder 10 feet from the house. What length of ladder do you need to reach the window?

Start With the Formula:
a2 + b2 = c2

a= 25
b= 10
c= ?

a2 + b2 = c2
252 + 102 = c2
625 + 100 = c2
725 = c2
26.92 = c

Part 4:
Lucas wanted to attack Mario with his magic called "PK Thunder". Since Mario is on top of a 19 feet cliff and Lucas was 20 feet away from the cliff with 3 feet long spikes between them, he has to attack from far away. Magic's starting point is from Lucas' hands which is the same height as the spikes from the ground. How long does Lucas' attack have to travel?

Problem B
You’ve just picked up a ground ball at first base, and you see the other team’s player running towards third base. How far do you have to throw the ball to get it from first base to third base,
and throw the runner out?

Since they had to throw from 1st base to 3rd base. When you put a line across you can see the triangle. Once you can see the triangle you can be able to figure out the answer for the question.

Ash wanted to catch a Treecko, but it was all the way on the top of the tree. The tree was 6m tall. Ash was 4m away from the tree and from the pokeball down was 250cm. How far does Ash have to throw his pokeball for him to get the Treecko?

Today we did some word problems in class.
I will be giving you the answers to worksheet
A. First, follow the Pythagoream theorem.

A2 + B2 = C2
25,2 + 10,2 = C2
625 + 100 = 725
725/ = 26.925

729-676= 53
725-676=49
26 49/53

And there is your answer!!!

A Pythagorean Triple is three unknown numbers, A, B, and C that satisfy a2+b2=c2 is a pythagorean triple.

a2+b2=c2

This example shows, - 6squared + 8squared = 10squared

6squared = (6x6=) 36 = a2

8squared = (8x8=) = 64 b2

10squared = (10x10=) = 100 c2

SO THE QUESTION , IF YOU THINK ABOUT IT, IS REALLY

36 + 64 = 100

This is Word porblem A

You`re locked out of your house and the only open window is on the second floor, 25 feet above the ground. You need to borrow a ladder from one of your neighbors. There's a bush along the edge of you house, so you`ll have to place the ladder 10 feet from the house. What length of ladder do you need to reach the window?

Now we start with the formula:
a2 +b2= c2

Now Heres what it looks like in the right triangle.

Now we simply do all the math work.

a2 + b2 = c2
25 squared
+ 10 squared = c2
625 + 100 = c2
725 = c2
Square root 725 to get c

c = 26.92

Today in class, we finished our "Word Problems" tab in our Pythagoras book. We added 3 more word problems, known as problem A, problem B, and the bonus problem. I'm going to scribe about problem B:
You’ve just picked up a ground ball at first base, and you see the other team’s player running towards third base. How far do you have to throw the ball to get it from first base to third base, and throw the runner out?

What are we trying to find? The distance from the first base to the third base.

1/2 of the diamond is a right angle triangle, and the length of two sides are given. That means we can use the Pythagorean theorem to find the distance from first base to third base.

(The side that we are trying to find is across the right angle, so it's the hypotenuse, c.)
formula to find t
he hypotenuse:
a² + b² = c²
we know that...
a=90
b=90
c=?
plug in the numbers, and follow the formula:
a² + b² = c²
90²+ 90²= c²
8100+8100=c²
16 200=c
²
..........then you have to find the square root of 16 200 to find the square root of c
², which is c
√16 200 = √c²
127.27= c

You'll have to throw the ball 127.27ft to get it from first base to third base.
