Jordan's ScribePost
Today in class we learned a few new ways to multiply fractions
1: The first way was using a Array Model for example 2/3 x 1/2 would be shown like that-------------------------------------------------->
2: Another way was that we used standard form which is multiplying both numerators and multiplying both denominators to get the anwser for example
Also Kyle showed us a way which is if you have 1/2 x 1/5 you just switch the numerators/ denominators like so to make the multiplying easier..........................
Homework for today were some multiplying questions listed below
Show 2 Different ways for each!!!!
1/2 x 1/4
3/10 x 1/2
2/3 x 3/4
2/5 x 1/3
3/4 x 5/7
2/3 x 3/4
5/6 x 4/5
3/8 x 1/3
1/2 x 1/2
3/5 x 1/4
2/3 x 5/12

i still dont understand the "ARRAY" way. it looks confusing becasue then like when you draw the square i get lost after that part...=/ is there an easier way that you can explain it in words and picutures?
