Ok so first of all I have to figure out how far Mark would have ran if he ran 7/8 of the course. And how far Racheal wold have ran if she ran 11/12 of the course.


The whole matters-in the first picture both Racheal and Mark both ran a whole of 26 miles. Each ran 5/8 and 7/12.

Measurment/Fractions are operators-in the second picture you have to add 1/8 five times, so that it equals 5/8. Then 4/7 of the way. 1/2 of the course, 1/2 of 26, 7/12=1/12,1/2x26.
ugly fractions/friendly fractions-5/8-> 1/8+1/8+1/8+1/8+1/8/ 1/8x5.
1/8=4
5/8 of 32=4+4+4+4+4=20 5/8=20
5/8=5x4=20

Proportional Reasoning- Ratio Table. In question #3 we used a ratio table to find out how many miles they ran this year.
