Part1: What's the Pythagorean triple? For those of you who are familiar with the Pythagorean theorem, you might have came across this during your investigations. But for those of you who aren't, a Pythagorean triple is a set of 3 numbers. In that set of numbers, when all of them are squared, adding the two lowest numbers will equal the remaining number. *Note: after squaring, the resulting numbers must all be whole number.*
For Example, 3, 4, 5 is a Pythagorean triple.
To figure out if this set is one of the Pythagorean triple, we need to find out if the two lowest numbers squared will equal the highest number squared.
first, the formula, then we apply the measurements, then we squared the numbers that required squaring. then add a and b together. a2 + b2 = c2 32 + 42 = 52 9 + 16 = 25 25 = 25 if the answers below equal each other, the set is one of the Pythagorean triple.
There are other sets of Pythagorean triple too. Some of them are 6, 8, 10 and 12, 16, 20. Try them out!

Its basically similar to how to find the missing hypotenuse, but instead of the formula: a2 + b2 = c2. The formula used is either c2 - a2 = b2 or c2 - b2 = a2. pretend these are the givens: c= 5 b= 4 a= ?
because were trying to find the missing leg a, we use the formula c2 - b2 = a2.

So Sora is done his adventure and comes across a keyhole. He is 10 meters away from it. The keyhole is 20 meters high. Sora is 4 meters tall. His Keyblade can fit exactly into the keyhole from the distance he is standing from. How long is his Keyblade?

The stragedy I used for answering this test was i found out how much 1 cup of kibbles was. When i got 1 cup i mulitplied it by the number of cups i needed or if it was smaller than a cup i divided it by the denominator ex. How to find 1/3 i divided 1 cup by 3.

I decided to find the values for 3, 24 and 1 1/2. To get 3 cups, i just divided 6 by 2= 3..so i did the same thing in the other side $9.00 divided by 2=$4.50. 1. For the puppy kibble test I used the multiply and divide strategies, and I also used fractions like cirlce graphs but with containers. I think another one would of been more helpful like just dividing the fractions in different ways like the same answer but get it a different way. I would first see how many cups each ingredient is, then I would see if all of them ca go into six cups to make the snack mix.
2. 2/3 + 1/4 +2/5 = 5/12 I added both numerators and both denominator and looked to see what they each amounted to.
3/5 + 2/7= 5/12 I did the samething as I did for question one I added both numerators and both denominators and it came out to be the sme answer as question one.
1/6 + 1/9= 2/15 for this question I added the denominator and the numerator to get the answer(I did the reverse of question one and two).
5/6 - 1/4= 4/2 I subtracted the numerator and the denominator to get the answer (I did the same thing as number three but I just subtracted it instead of adding them)

(2) they will ech get 1/2 a peice for each pizza, because they each go into the pizza every 1/2 a peice
(3) they each get one peice of pizza, so there is no leftovers because if you give them 2 peices each there won't be enough pizza for all of them

group four would of ate the most peices out of all them i drew pizzas on paint and looked for how many peaople went into the pizza with no leftovers.
I think I should of explained it more to show what I did. i divided the amount of pizza with the amount of people and got the answer which is how many peices each person in the group will get.

Betty's Snack Mix 1. What strategies were needed? I used a ratio table to find out the amounts for 1 cup, from the information already given for 2 2/2 cups. Then I multiplied everything for 1 cup by 12 to get 12 cups. To find 1/2 cup, I divided everything from 1 cup by 2. 2. How did you use these strategies?
